At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking an Academic and Student Affairs Administrator. Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, the Academic and Student Affairs Administrator performs duties in support of the Office of Academic Affairs and works directly with all departments within the division of Academic and Student Affairs. The Administrator demonstrates a professional demeanor, embraces a mindset of efficiency, adaptability, institutional effectiveness, and exercises independent judgment and discretion in all matters.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide high-level administrative support for the Office of Academic Affairs and, upon request, for various departments within the purview of the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
  • Strategically plan and execute projects in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs and other University departments to implement new policies, programs, and initiatives of significant strategic importance. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain organizational tools such as spreadsheets, tracking systems, and databases for the Office of Academic Affairs, encompassing tasks such as data entry, database management, report generation, and data analysis.
  • Coordinate schedules, calendars, and room reservations for the Vice President and Assistant Vice Presidents in Academic Affairs. Facilitate both regular and ad-hoc meetings, expertly managing changes and delays in schedules with efficiency.  

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Three years of experience in administrative roles required. Past upper administrative level experience preferred.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Proficient in utilizing PCs, databases, and data visualization tools such as charts and graphs. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required, with a preference for experience in Power BI.
  • Willingness to flex time for occasional weekend and/or evening work.
