At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking an Academic Assistant to provide complete logistical, secretarial, and clerical support to all faculty within the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, with consistent quality performance and achieving above-standard results. The Academic Assistant is required to act responsibly and professionally, adhering to all university and departmental policies and procedures.

What you’ll do:

  • Must be available to all CPMS faculty, providing assistance as requested.
  • Schedule, coordinate, prepare and produce course and lecture materials, syllabi, and handouts.
  • Schedule, coordinate, prepare and produce examinations, assessments and statistical performance data.  Proctor examinations as necessary.
  • Greet, receive, schedule and coordinate visitors and Guest Lecturers, acting as a point of contact. Prepare documents and paperwork to expedite payment and to eliminate concerns.
  • Maintain calendars and schedules for all CPMS Faculty.  Schedule meetings with faculty, administration, and students.
  • Record meeting minutes, ensuring accuracy and prompt distribution.

What we’re looking for:

  • High school degree or equivalent, plus two years of experience as an assistant or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Some college education or business school training desired.
