DMU is seeking an EMT PRN to provide on-site medical support during sporting events at the Des Moines University Clinic at the Mid-American Energy RecPlex. The role is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes of all ages, requiring adherence to state law and effective communication with coaches and medical personnel.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide emergency medical care and first aide to athletes during games / practices.
  • Assess and respond to injuries and medical situations on-site, stabilizing and managing athletes until further care is available if necessary.
  • Coordinate with coaches, athletic directors, and medical personnel to ensure proper care and follow–up for injured athletes.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of incidents, injuries or treatments provided during events, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all necessary medical equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.

What we are looking for:

  • Valid EMT certification/license in the state of Iowa.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Experience in emergency medical services, working with athletes or in a high-stress environment.
