At Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of medicine and health sciences. Reporting to the Creative Director in Marketing and Communications, this graphic design position is responsible for producing print and digital assets and creating visually engaging content that drives brand awareness, engagement, and support for the university’s strategic objectives. The role collaborates with campus partners to meet marketing needs for external audiences, develops communication templates for internal audiences, and supports additional digital content needs with the photographer/videographer and web content and marketing specialist.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute content and marketing strategies across earned, owned, and paid media to support university goals and brand awareness.
  • Design and produce innovative print and digital marketing materials, including advertising, publications, social media content, email campaigns, websites, videos, and presentations.
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept through delivery while ensuring consistency with DMU brand standards.
  • Partner with marketing and campus stakeholders to create engaging visual content, support special events, and enhance the impact of communications.
  • Develop web and print content, including landing pages, banners, infographics, and other visual assets, while coordinating with external vendors as needed.
  • Provide design expertise and training, stay current on industry trends and technologies, and support additional Marketing and Communications initiatives as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in content design and/or marketing or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite, with strong typography and visual design skills.
  • Must have or be willing to consider drone certification in the first year of employment (e.g., FAA Part 107) for aerial photography/videography tasks.
  • Experience developing print and digital marketing materials, including preparing files for professional print production.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, WordPress, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Creative storyteller with a commitment to DMU’s mission and values, and culturally responsive content creation.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid schedule available after three months of employment, with on-campus presence required three days per week.

Total Rewards:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $63,000-$67,000, commensurate with experience. Placement within the range will depend on experience, qualifications, and alignment with role requirements.

Annual Security Report
